From the age of four when Grandmother took me to see a missionary doctor in my home state of Sokoto, I knew I must be a doctor.

I was a truant in my early years of western education. I was expelled within three months from three different missionary schools for truancy. But on third expulsion, my grandmother Dada took me to see this English doctor. He examined my abdomen thoroughly and turned to Dada and said ”there is nothing wrong with your grandson” It was in a most confident manner I had witnessed in my short life then and even now as a Family Physician. What made him so confident? I knew I was malingering. On that day I decided I must be a Family Physician. I decided I must know as much as that Physician. On 29th October 2025, I reached the pinnacle of my career as a Fellow of the Royal College of General Physician FRCGP.
